Confidence is defined as a feeling of self assurance arising from ones appreciation of ones own abilities or qualities.
Mindset is defined as a set of beliefs that shape how you make sense of the world and yourself.
If our mindset can shape how we understand everything we encounter in life, then it is crucial that we set a tone of confidence in our minds as early as possible. Believing in our own strength and ability is crucial to handling the ever increasing challenges of life and softball.
This document is a toolbox full of helpful strategies that build a confident mindset:
Reframing helps us to see challenges as opportunities rather than roadblocks.
Journaling helps us to digest information, deepen self discovery, become aware of our patterns and come up with new insights.
Visualization helps build the strong mental muscles required to build strong habits, enhance performance and achieve goals.
Body scans connect us to our breath and body in a deep way which helps to reduce anxiety and optimize our movement.
Affirmations help us reinforce positive self talk and helps shape our mindset to experience empowerment and appreciation.
While these exercises are simple, just like getting good at softball, it requires lots of reps. The examples given in the toolbox are just to prime you to be able to notice how your mind is working for or against you all the time.
